EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Getting to know my students outside the classroom

Spending time with students outside of the formal classroom setting is key in building teacher-student relationships. This includes attending school sporting events, dances and fundraisers as well as coaching sports teams and supervising clubs. This time spent with students outside the classroom makes a huge difference in the classroom, especially for students who struggle academically.

Students are so much more than learners in the classroom and experiential learning gives both teachers and students a chance to get to know more aspects of each other's personalities. This can take place in a Week Without Walls experience, a field trip or as part of a club or sports team.
