After two years of hard work today I got to walk across the stage at York University's Keele Campus to receive my Masters of Environmental Studies degree. After teaching high school science for eight years in both China and Canada I made the decision to take two years off to complete my Masters degree.

Rather than pursue a Masters in Education I chose to complete a Masters of Environmental Studies with a Diploma in Environmental & Sustainability Education. This choice allowed me to really push myself to see Environmental Education from a Humanities perspective rather than a Science perspective. As I am a firm believer in lifelong learning and developing multiple intelligences this was a conscious choice. I chose to complete a thesis, titled "Chinese International School Students Discuss Sustainability: A Mixed Methods Study in Guangdong, China" which allowed me to answer a question inspired by my international teaching experiences.

I can't wait to take my MES and apply what I have learned in the classroom!
